Despite a spike in oil prices since the U.S. attack on Iran, the Trump administration is not currently considering tapping its government oil stockpile. SPR inventories currently sit at 415 million barrels, just 5 percent higher than when Trump took office and well below the 638 million barrels at the beginning of the Biden administration, according to Energy Information Administration data.
